ORIGINS
YANS Medical Centre commenced its operations more than 2 years ago and averages 100 out-patients
per day. At present, outpatient facilities offered by the Medical Centre include General Medicine, General
Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT, Plastic Surgery, and Dermatology. From the positive feedback
received, local expansion with a tertiary care center is warranted and also open to prospects of state
wide and national expansion in the future.

Dr. Nazeema Nazer, MD
Managing Director
Dr. Nazeema Nazer is one of the leading dermatologists in Kerala. With decades of experience in this field, this doctor has made a recognizable name within and beyond the vicinity. Dr. Nazeema Nazer received her medical degree (MBBS) and MD in Dermatology and Venereology from Trivandrum Medical College where she also worked as a consultant. She then moved to Abu Dhabi and worked in the Ministry Hospital as a consultant Dermatologist for 12 years. The department witnessed impeccable rise in standard of care and Dr. Nazeema became a reputed dermatologist among the local population in U.A.E. Home is where the heart is and thus returned to her home state of Kerala where she successfully established multiple private clinics catering to patients from a broad walk of life.
Dr. Raja Mohan Chakrapani, MD
Dr. Raja Mohan Chakrapani is an eminent physician from Pittsburgh, U.S.A. and
brings to the team his wealth of global experience at administrative and clinical
capacities. Dr. Raja Mohan graduated from Trivandrum Medical College with his MD in General Medicine. Following a 5 year posting as Army Physician, he served the public sector at Trivandrum, before expanding his horizon by joining the NHS, U.K.
Later, he obtained his MD in Internal Medicine from American Board of Internal Medicine. Despite permanently settling in Pittsburgh, Dr. Raja Mohan was an avid
supporter of the project from its inception, ready to contribute his clinical and
administrative acumen to create a state of the art hospital in Kerala.
Dr. Champak Venkitachalam, MD
Dr. Champak is a dynamic young doctor currently working at John Muir
Medical Group, Walnut Creek and Concord, U.S.A. Following her MBBS she
completed her post graduate training in Family Medicine from UC Davis Medical
Center, Sacramento. Dr. Champak has received formal training in Emergency
Preparedness and Response, obtained Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Pathology and
Human Anatomy, and Master of Public Health from Linda University, U.S.A. Dr.
Champak desires to use her highly specialized and distinct skill set in aiding the
construction of a state of the art healthcare facility to dedicate her proficiency to
promote better quality healthcare in Kerala.
Dr. Y. A. Nazer MS, MCh
Chairman
YANS Medical Institute is the brainchild of Dr. Nazer, a world-renowned heart surgeon.
He began his journey into the field of healthcare management, 24 years ago, by
successfully establishing one of the first full-fledged cardiac centres in the Middle East in
partnership with the Ministry of Health, Abu Dhabi.
Over the past two decades, Dr. Nazer has been instrumental in establishing several
prestigious medical facilities and institutions in India and abroad. These include the
Coronary Surgery Unit at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences, Trivandrum
in 1990, a Medical College at Kollam in 2008 and several cardiac centres and private
hospitals in Kerala and UAE.
